    The Hungry Lu's Special, toasted, is maybe the best torpedo in San Diego. All of the sandwiches and pizzas are great. My only problem is staying away from his fresh baked cookies. I am a regular here, and I recommend it to anybody who is looking for lunch.

    Absolutely spectacular food and customer service! Every time we walk in Charlie greets us with a warm welcome and a smile. I highly recommend trying out this quaint shop, whether you're a tourist or a local you'll love it just the same.

    OK, I grew up on the east coast, Boston to be exact. Yo they bake their rolls daily here, they got that peppercini, classic oil and vinegar. I went here yesterday after just moving back to CA from Boston. If I'm in OB, I WILL be going to Lu's no matter what. They also have a bomb dessert selection, great drinks, indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff is as friendly as your best friend, and they mean it. If I could rate 6 stars, you can bet Lu's would get it. This place basically changed my view on the lack of east coast sub-style food in San Diego. I'm really relieved to know this place exists. So ya, it's that kinda seriously good.

    Outstanding! As a native NYer living in Arizona, I miss good Italian deli and pastries. We went in on a whim while visiting a business on the block and were not disappointed. The cannoli and macaroon were the best I ever had. We returned on the way out of town for Italian subs and more pastries for the road. The bread was fresh baked, fresh deli meat, and delicious. This will be a return spot on future vacations.
